Tips to starting things off right.
Come prepared with questions.
As the sessions are designed to be player led, you should come prepared with ideas, thoughts, and questions to take full advantage of this unique access and opportunity.
Introduce yourself.
It is extremely important to introduce yourself for a few moments at the beginning of the call. Share your name, age, team, or anything else you think is applicable and will help you get the most out of your experience.
Be engaged and attentive.
Show you are interested and engaged by using good body language. This means sitting up straight, limiting any distractions, keeping your eyes on the camera or computer screen, nodding in agreement, and actively listening.
Dress appropriately.
It is always better to overdress, even on a video call. It is usually recommended to leave the hats off, wear a collared or business shirt, and have your hair properly maintained.
Be coachable and actively listen.
This is an incredibly valuable opportunity to build connections and gain insights from the top minds. We encourage you to have a notepad and a pen to jot down important ideas, thoughts, and answers provided by the expert.
Do your homework.
It is always good to know who you are talking to and do your homework on their experience, resume, and background. This will allow you to ask applicable, relevant, and specific questions and build a great connection.
Don't be late.
It is always good to make sure you are fully prepared and ready to go a few minutes early, just in case there are any technical difficulties or challenges. This way, you can join the meeting as soon as it hits your start time!
Conversation starters and optional questions.
This is a list of optional questions that you can use to help push the conversation forward and create a genuine connection. Feel free to save these prior to your video call to use if necessary.
